If it is, remove the foot pedal, switch on the machine then see if it is sewing continuously. If you cannot remove the foot pedal, then dismantle it again, and try removing the wires from the pedal component (potentiometer, variable resistor?).

It will probably be 2 or 3 wires. Make sure those wires are not shorting, and switch the machine on.

If the machine is not sewing continuously, then the problem lies with the foot pedal. Otherwise the problem is at the sewing machine end and could be due to a worn cable where the wires inside are no longer insulated from each other. Or it could be something else entirely. Try that and report back.:).

I have took the foot pedal apart and checked it on a very basic level and do not know what to do now as i have little money to actually pay for it to be fixed and it is very old so I'm not sure if it is worth it or a complete waste of money. Its make is Frister and Rossman cub 3.
